Adoniram Lodge of Mark Master Masons. No.552 Installation Meeting Wednesday November 19th 2025 Westhoughton Masonic Hall, Brookfield Hall, Peel Street, Westhoughton |
|
| Today it’s a trip to one of my favourite meetings, not exactly a Team Visit but one that is always well supported and a joy to attend, think I counted at least 50+ present. It starts at 11 am but does that ease the usual climb up the on ramp over the high-level bridge not at all. Once we reached the M61 traffic thinned and we could manage 50 mph and in no time at all we arrived in Peel Street the location of the excellent Brookfield Masonic Hall, Westhoughton. | |
| Once inside it was a pleasure to see so many smiling faces and handshakes of friendship, the lodge room was already set up for the meeting which opened on time at 11 am. Before the Installation Ceremony began a ballot was taken to admit four joining members, this proved in favour and the Lodge was pleased to receive them. General business continued and then it was time for W.Bro. John Wreyford PGJD the I.M. to Install the Master elect V.W Bro. Geoffrey Michael Bury PGJO. A.Prov.GM, who was presented by W. Bro. Arthur Robinson PGJO ProvGDC, an excellent ceremony was carried out, done in fine stile and much appreciated by all. | |
| The address to the W.M. was given by VW Bro Giles Berkley PGJO, address to the Wardens was given by W.Bro. Michael Jeremy Pinckard J.P. PGJD, address to the Overseers was given by W.Bro. Anthony Harrison Past GM (Craft), and of course the address to everyone present was given by our RW PGM Keith Alan Beardmore G.M.R.A.C. | |
| Officers for the ensuing year were appointed and invested, a proposition to keep the Lodge subscription at £25 at least until September 2026. The Charities were then Honoured. A donation for the WLMC for £1000 and a donation to the 2038 Festival for £4800 was held in the Charity Account. In any other business it was reported that the Secretary has now retired after many years of devoted work to the Lodge, this was received by loud acclaim. |
|
| On closing everyone made their way to the dining room, lots of happy chat from all over the Province whilst they charged their glasses before taking up their allotted seats for the Festive Board. An excellent meal was served by the very efficient and friendly hall staff, following on from the meal the usual Toasts and Responses were given and then it was out into daylight for a change, mind you it was still freezing, Adoniram a Special Past Masters Lodge, here’s to the next one. | |
| Sorry for the late report but let the pictures do the talking. | |
